The School of Commerce functions with 5 departments. The courses offered imbibe the necessary skill sets that students would need to face the open challenges of the industry and challenges of the outside world. The School focuses on more of practical training to the students by taking them to Industries, organizing Seminars, Guest Lectures and Skill Development programs.

The Department of Commerce aims at providing knowledge in the field of commerce and accounting with a curriculum that ensures the gap between what is taught and what is practiced in industry bridged by arranging frequent Guest lectures, Seminars and Conferences. The Department became a full-fledged research department offering full time and part time M.Phil., Programme from the academic year 2000-2001.
Department of Commerce with Professional Accounting is on the track from academic year 2010 – 2011. The department teaches the syllabi through learner – centered teaching methods such as case studies, role play, field visits and project work.
The Department of B. Com (Accounting & Finance) has commenced its operations from this academic year 2017-2018. It provides a proficient environment to nurture Accounting and Finance professionals with a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to society with commitment and integrity.
B Com BPS (Business Process Services) which are the core business activities in the corporate sector. BPS is the IT area with high demand in human resources for Business Process Management software tools under Web Services. The course is innovative in nature and is itself an MoU with TCS along with Bharathiar University.
The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications was established in the Academic Year 2000 – 2001 with the aim of providing commerce education with computer application skill to the students. At present, educational institutions are compelled to provide quality personnel to meet the competitive challenges in human resource requirements of the world.
MCom (Finance and Computer Applications) program was established in the year 2002 has been providing quality education and good results right from its inception and has with the vision to promote sustainable development through professional education and dissemination of knowledge in the field of Finance.
